Testing Dam

  • Spray Test: Using a high-pressure hose, spray around the outer edges of the dam for at least 40 seconds per side. Avoid splashing water directly into the rain guard.
  • Dryness Check: After spraying, rub a tissue along the inner protective layer.
    • If the tissue stays dry, the dam is effectively sealed and should withstand standing water for several days.
    • If you notice moisture on the tissue, there may be a leak.
  • Leak Inspection: Check the outer areas carefully to locate the leak source.
  • Reinforcement (if needed): Install an additional anchor in the leaking area.
  • Retest: Repeat the spray and tissue test to confirm no further leaks.
